Educational Development

As an organization of college educated women. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. plays an active role in the educational movement, seeking to inspire, motivate and support the aspirations and achievements of youth and young adults.  To help promote and enhance academic excellence through programs, tolls and scholarships. The ultimate goal of the committee is to design and develop educational programs and activities that will increase the RAC’s effectiveness in the community in the field of education.

The Buffalo Alumnae Chapter (BAC) proudly hosts several programs that focus on Delta's  Educational Development Thrust. Locally, BAC delivers programs to meet community needs for educational enrichment, college and career readiness, mentoring and service learning. These programs include:

Scholarship Program

Funds raised go towards supporting scholarships for Buffalo/Niagara youth and enable us to continue our community programming. The chapter funds multiple programs and contributes over $20,000 in yearly scholarships through fundraisers such as the biannual Jabberwock Extravaganza and Crimson and Cream Gala.


Description

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Buffalo Alumnae Chapter is seeking African American female and male high school seniors interested in applying for Delta Scholarships. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement, leadership, community service, and financial need.


Requirements

  • Plan to enroll in a Bachelor or Associate Degree program at an accredited College or University in the Fall
  • Reside in the Buffalo/Niagara Region.
  • Be African American or of Pan African decent
