The Buffalo Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to relaunch the Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Delta GEMS Institute in Niagara Falls, New York, for the 2026–2027 program year.
Delta GEMS is designed to help high school girls ages 14–18 discover their individual brilliance, strengthen their confidence and develop the skills needed to achieve their goals. Through mentoring, interactive workshops, community service and meaningful connections with positive female role models, participants will receive mentoring and guidance as they prepare for college, careers and adulthood.
2026–2027 Theme: I Am H.E.R.
Heroic. Empowered. Resilient.
This year’s program will encourage each participant to recognize her value, own her story and become the confident young woman she is capable of being.
Participants will explore topics including:
- Knowing Your Worth and Owning Your Story
- Social Media, Influence and Authenticity
- College, Careers and Purpose
- Sisterhood, Relationships and Boundaries
- Mental Wellness
- Finding Your Voice
- Money, Power and Financial Freedom
- Leadership, Service and Civic Responsibility
Each session will provide practical knowledge and skills that participants can add to their personal “toolbox” and apply at school, at home and in their communities.
Program Schedule
The program will run from October 2026 through June 2027, with sessions held on select Saturdays in Niagara Falls.
The year will begin with an orientation to welcome participants and families, establish expectations and build connections. Monthly workshops will follow, concluding with a special celebration recognizing the growth and accomplishments of our Delta GEMS.
Consistent participation throughout the program year is expected.
Who Should Participate?
The program is intended for high school girls ages 14–18 who live in or attend school in Niagara Falls, NY and who:
- Want to strengthen their confidence and leadership skills
- Are exploring college, career and future opportunities
- Would benefit from mentoring, encouragement and positive support
- Are interested in personal development
Participation is free, but space is limited to 25 participants.

Interested students and their parents or guardians are invited to complete the interest form below.
Interest forms are due: October 2, 2026
Submitting an interest form does not guarantee acceptance. Selected participants and their parents or guardians will receive additional program information and required enrollment materials.

About Delta G.E.M.S.
G.E.M.S. is an acronym for Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully. The national initiative was created by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated to provide African American young women ages 14–18 with the educational support and professional guidance needed to pursue academic success, strengthen communication and decision-making skills, develop their talents and become agents of positive change in their communities.
The program honors Dr. Jeanne L. Noble, the 12th National President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and her extraordinary legacy as an educator and advocate for young women.
